DEPONTE
PAPER COMPANY

BRANDED CONTENT
The story
Paper is one of the most familiar materials in the world, and one of the least looked at. We pick it up, write on it, wrap things in it, and rarely stop to notice what it actually is. DePonte wanted a film that made people notice.
Rather than explain the product, we decided to show it. This is a cinematic portrait of DePonte paper: the grain under raking light, the weight of a sheet as it settles, the sound of a page turning, the way a fold holds its edge. There’s no voiceover and no sales pitch. The film trusts the viewer to see the quality for themselves.
How we made it
The challenge was to make people feel the texture through a screen. Paper is quiet and still, so everything depended on light, framing, and patience.
We shot slowly and deliberately, with macro and close-up lenses that get near enough to read the fibres, and soft, directional light that gives each surface depth and shadow. Camera movements were small and smooth, so the paper always felt like the subject, not a prop. Every shot was composed like a still life, with attention to colour, negative space, and how a surface catches the light.

The impact
Branded content usually competes by being louder. This film does the opposite, and that stillness is what makes it stand out. It gives DePonte a visual language that matches the product: precise, tactile, and unhurried. Instead of telling customers the paper is high quality, it lets them see and almost feel it, which is far more convincing.
For a product built on touch, that matters. Most people will never hold DePonte paper before they choose it, so the film becomes the next best thing, a way to experience the material from anywhere.
